A Space Between Now and Then
Most of us are acutely aware of the new digital world and the change in the way of life that is being forged, right at the core of our daily lives. Our realities are now being recreated in three spaces. Our conscious minds, physical reality and now cyberspace - wherever that is located.
The Space Between Now and Then aims to poetically representthe synthesis of our intellect, imagination and technology in cyberspace. In William Gibson’s 1984 novel, Neuromancer, he describesthe ‘data dance of computers and other technologies with human consciousness’. In my work this data is represented as white orbs upon which we are consistently focused and interacting with on some level. The children in my images symbolise our individual souls, entering an unknown future of our own making, participating in this beautiful ‘data dance’.
